Jesup is located approximently nine miles east of Waterloo-Cedar Falls Metropolitan area and 6 miles west of Independence, Iowa on U.S. Highway 20, placing it within the D.A.R.E. community. The Jesup Police Department has an excellent working relationship with the Fire Department and Ambulance Services along with all area law enforcement agencies. Our Department handles all types of calls for service each month, from citizens and other agencies. The department is constantly adjusting to meet the needs of the rapidly growing city population and is available to provide assistance to any person in need whether in Jesup or out of town through mutual aid. A new housing sub division, requiring houses in value of $250,000 or more, has recently been added to the JPD patrol area.
The Jesup Police Department prides itself on community based policing and its primary goal of preventing crime and preservation of life and property.
